About Flakers Machine
Flaker Machine Efficient Flake Formation from Molten Materials
The Flaker Machine is designed for continuous solidification and flaking of molten materials. It enables the formation of uniform flakes by depositing molten feed onto a water-cooled rotating drum. The desired flake thickness is achieved through manual adjustment of the scraper.
Key Components & Features
Flaker Drum
- Construction: Fabricated from high-quality Mild Steel or Stainless Steel plates, ensuring structural integrity and corrosion resistance.
- Cooling Efficiency: Engineered to provide uniform cooling across the drum surface for consistent flake formation.
- Surface Finish: The flaking surface is precision-ground and hard-chrome plated, offering a superior finish that prevents material from sticking after scrapping.
- Cooling System: Equipped with a hollow shaft for the circulation of a cooling medium. A rotary joint is installed at the inlet and outlet for efficient transfer of the coolant.
Bearings
- The drum rotates on self-aligning spherical roller bearings, designed to handle radial loads and ensure smooth, vibration-free operation under continuous scraping conditions.
Drive Mechanism
- The drum rotation is achieved via a chain and sprocket drive, coupled with a reduction gearbox to absorb vibratory loads from the scraper.
- The gearbox is powered by a pulley-belt drive system, offering reliable and adjustable speed control.
Feed Tray
- A jacketed feed tray is provided to maintain the temperature of the molten feed. It can be heated or cooled as per process requirements, ensuring optimal consistency during the flaking process.
Applications
The Flaker Machine is widely used in industries such as:
- Chemicals
- Pharmaceuticals
- Dyes and pigments
- Food processing
- Waxes and resins
- Petrochemicals
