Working Principle

The Rotary Vacuum Dryer consists of a horizontal cylindrical jacketed shell with a hollow agitator rotating at close clearance.

• The batch operation is performed under vacuum, with heating provided through the jacket.
• Vacuum and agitation allow uniform drying, making the system suitable for heat-sensitive materials.
• The agitator with specially designed blades continuously sweeps the internal surface, turning the material and ensuring maximum contact with the heated surface.
• After drying, the system can be cooled by circulating chilled water through the jacket.

Auxiliary Components

Dust Catcher

• Prevents carryover of dried particles into the distillate collection system.
• Protects the vacuum pump from dust entry.
• Equipped with a filter bag and optionally heated jackets/limpets to prevent condensation.

Receiver

• Collects the condensed solvent after separation.
• Available in different capacities, positioned beneath the condenser.

Condenser

• A shell-and-tube heat exchanger that condenses vapors into liquid.

Vacuum Pump

• Creates and maintains vacuum inside the dryer shell.

Shaft (Rotor) Sealing Arrangement

• Options: Stuffing box or mechanical seal, as per requirement.
